Mother of Palestinian Hunger Striker Taken to Hospital Unconscious

Navideshahed: The mother of hunger striker Thaer Halahle, who has been on hunger strike for 65 days, was taken to Al-Khalil government hospital on Saturday after she fainted.

Halahle’s brother, Mahmoud, said that their mother Fatima, 55, was adamant on maintaining hunger strike in solidarity with her son, who is now in a very critical condition and facing death any moment.

He said that his mother fainted after suffering severe exhaustion and her health condition gravely deteriorated.

Mahmoud asked the media to intensify their coverage of the suffering of families of those hunger strikers and not be content with brief reporting.

He said that the Israeli occupation authority is monitoring the Arab and Islamic street’s reaction to the hunger strike and would determine its response to the prisoners’ demands in the light of this reaction.
