We are in Pursuit of Enforcing Islamic Shariah

Navideshahed: Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate stressed that in case of winning the elections, Islam would come first in Muslim Brotherhood future plans.

According to Fars News Agency quoting Al-Youm Al-Sabeh News Agency, Mohammad Mersi that after omission of ‘Kheirat Al-Shater’ became a candidate for Ekhvan al-Moslemin for presidency elections, once again he emphasized that Islam will be the base and pillar of his programs.

The candidate of Egypt’s Presidential Election who gave speech among his fans in Cairo at the continuation of his words added: “The revolutionary plan that will be presented by Ekhvan al-Moslemin, regardless of being based on Islam and Sharia, it will pay special attentions to education, health and agricultural industry.”?

He also pointed out to this issue that according to authoritative news, during the government of Mubarak, more than $ 6 billion dollars have been robbed from the country and he stressed on this issue that the Egyptian nation will never allow that the agents of previous regime to come back into power.

Mersi stipulated: “The Egypt revolution will be continued as long as the ideal president to be elected by people and he steps in power.”?

Mohammad Mersi was an option for the preservation of Ekhvan al-Moslemin and after disqualification of ‘Kheirat Shater’ was replaced instead of him.


He was born on August 5, 1951 in Al-Udeh village located in Al-Sharqiyeh province of Egypt. Mohammad Mersi was born in a poor and farmer family and he has three brothers and two sisters. At the moment he is married and he has five children and three grandchildren.

Mohammad Mersi has master degree in Metals Engineering program and he graduated in 1978 from Cairo University. He also got hid PhD for Airplane engines from South California University located in the United States of America. He also started teaching in the same university after his graduation.

He was elected as one of the members of Resistance Committee against the Zionists in Al-Sharqiyeh province and also a member of the International Conference of parties and political forces and labor union. Mohammad Mersi is also a founder of Egyptian Resistance Committee against Zionists plans.

Mersi has been activating in the political circle of Ekhvan al-Moslemin society since 1992 and he was opted as a candidate for parliament elections of Al-Shob in 2000. He succeeded to enter the parliament of Egypt’s Al-Shab in 2000 and he had the post of spokesman of Ekhvan al-Moslemin society in the Egyptian parliament.

He established the ‘National Campaign of Change’ in 2004 along with Aziz Sediqi. On April 30, 2011, he was elected as the head of newly established of ‘Freedom and Justice’ by Ekhvan al-Moslemin society.
