Beirut Quran Association Offers Courses on Science, Psychology

Navideshahed: One of the main priorities of Beirut’s Quran Association is offering educational courses in various branches of science including psychology, educational sciences, teaching and Islamic ethics, as well as specialized Quranic courses.

This is according to Ahmed Haj Hossein Mohammadi, head of the center, an expert in Quranic sciences and interpretation and also professor of Al-Mustafa International University’s branch in Lebanon, who, speaking to IQNA, also said that the association is a Quranic charity center which was established in 1978 in Lebanon and has currently 20 branches across the country.

“A main branch is located in Beirut which offers courses on Quran memorization, recitation, interpretation and Tajweed at three basic, intermediate and advanced levels.”?

“The center is also active in presenting educational courses on Quran interpretation in both thematic and ordinal types,”? he went on to say, adding that “running teachers training courses is among other activities of the center which includes courses on Quranic sciences, psychology, educational sciences, teaching methodology and Islamic ethics.”?

“It also organizes religious and Quranic forums and ceremonies on various occasions with the participation of notable reciters from different Islamic countries including Iran, Iraq and Egypt.”?

Mohammadi further noted that most of the center’s programs are covered by Lebanon’s TV and Radio Broadcasting.

“One of the center’s Quranic plans which began 8 years ago was the memorization of the entire Quran that has been well-received by the people in Lebanon.”?

“Other activities of the center include holding international Quranic courses in Iran, as well as organizing Quranic contests in different categories of memorization, recitation and Tartil for both men and women.”?

“Also at the national level, Quranic competitions are held every 4 or 5 months in Lebanon with the participation of a great number of Quranic elites.”?

Ahmed Haj Hossein further said that the center also holds introductory courses on Quran recitation and Tajweed for those interested in memorizing the Holy Quran.

Elaborating on the publishing activities of the society, he said: “The center has recently published a precious copy of the Quran in cooperation with Dar-ol-Quran Center in Iran, as well as 10,000 other copies of the Holy Book.”?

“We also publish various Quranic journals such as Anwar-ol-Huda and Arij-ol-Quran which are distributed among the Quranic centers and institutes all over Lebanon.”?

“A new branch of the association is planned to be launched in Lebanon’s Quranic Sciences Center to further promote Quranic activities in society,”? he went on to say.
