Gaza in Dire Need of Medical Supplies

Navideshahed: Dr. Munir al-Barsh, General Director of Pharmacy in the Ministry of Health, said that Gaza health authorities announced that a record number of medicines and medical supplies ran out completely, a situation that is caused and getting worse because of the imposed Israeli siege.

According to him, 218 data-x-items of medical supplies and 186 data-x-items of medicines have run out of the Ministry's stores, warning from a real disaster in medicine sectors, especially nursery and surgery sectors.

Barsh accused the PA authority in Ramallah in participating in the imposed Israeli siege on Gaza by not sending Gaza’s share of medicines and medical data-x-items which is estimated at 40 per cent of the World Bank's aid.

He has emphasized the seriousness of the current situation warning of a real disaster in the light of the continuing deterioration in medicine supplies, pointing out that the Gaza health ministry announced a state of emergency in Gaza, since a year ago, due to a real medical crisis.

He called on the international community, the international health organizations, and the Red Cross to save Gaza from this real tragic and catastrophic situation.
