Hezbollah Official Views Iran as Source of Islamic Awakening

Speaking to FNA, member of Hezbollah's Central Council Kadar Noureddin pointed to profound change in Iran's strategic policies towards Arab and Islamic issues and solidarity with Palestinian nation after the 1979 Revolution, and said the change created hope in the Muslim world.

"At a time when Islam was far from politics, the victory of the Iranian nation's revolution helped Muslims achieve their freedom," Noureddin stated, praising the values of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

He added that the hope created by the Iranian revolution revived the pride and honor of the Muslim Ummah (community) and encouraged Islamic nations to start thinking of putting an end to their pitiful conditions and (western) humiliation and contempt for Muslims.

In relevant remarks in February, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had also described the Islamic Revolution as a source of inspiration for the revolutions and popular uprisings which have swept the Middle-East and North Africa.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran does not claim that the Islamic Awakening in the region has been initiated by Iran, but, no one can neglect the fact that the waves of Islamic Awakening have been inspired by the victory of Islamic Revolution.

The leader underlined that the latest developments in the region and the Islamic Awakening proved that the Iranian nation is moving in the right path and that the Islamic Revolution has flourished and is dynamically moving forward towards its goals 33 years after its victory.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that slogans of the Iranian nation have prevailed over the region and the nations following global arrogance have now stood by Iran pursuing the same goals.

The Leader further said that the message of the Islamic Revolution is the message of morality, divine values and salvation from the current miserable state of life in the West.

Since the beginning of 2011, the Muslim world has witnessed popular uprisings and revolutions similar to what happened in Iran in 1979.

Tunisia saw the overthrow of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in a popular revolution in January, which was soon followed by a revolution which toppled Hosni Mubarak in Egypt in February.

Libya was the third country touched by the Islamic Awakening. Libyans also embraced victory after months of bloody campaign against the country's tyrant, Muammar al-Qaddafi.

Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen have since been the scene of protests against their totalitarian rulers, who have resorted to brutal crackdown on demonstrations to silence their critics.
