Arab Rulers Frightened by Islamic Awakening
Navideshahed: Member of Majlis Principalists Fraction Hojjatollah Rahmani says that the wave of Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa and the resistance shown by people in countries like Syria has frightened the Arab rulers more than ever before.
In an interview with ICANA on Monday, Rahmani said, "Most of the Arab rulers are proxies of the United States and Europe in the region and they have followed the Western policies toward Syria over the past months."
"However," he said, "the Syrian people and government stood firm on their position and resisted US and Israeli pressure and successfully neutralized the Western and Arab conspiracies."
Syria is regarded as the only Arab country which has always supported the resistance against the Zionist regime of Israel and has always shown a different kind of political behavior toward the western powers," he added.
