US, Israel Seek Control of Region

During a meeting with a delegation of translators of different nationalities who have come to take part in a translation course at the University of Tehran, Ayatollah Taskhiri said that "The US and "Israel" have been trying to take control over the region, particularly Syria in order to target the resistance," which according to Ayatollah is not likely to happen.

"We support the Syrian government, and we also support President Bashar al-Assad and encourage him on the reforms he has been trying to implement," Ayatollah Tashkiri added.
As for the situation in Egypt, He noted "I love the Egyptian people; they have a special place in heart," adding "as for the situation in the post-revolution phase, I think the situation is good and I see a very bright future is yet to come."

In a statement to al-Intiqad, as the anniversary of the Islamic Resistance Martyred Leaders day has approached, Ayatollah Taskhiri highlighted that the resistance leaders have been the beacon to our path. "These leaders were our ideal, our friends, and we are proud they are our friends," he stated.

Further adding that "the Resistance leaders, Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbas Moussawi, and Martyr Imad Moghnieh, have left a great impact on the revolutions sweeping across the world today," he underscored that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has struggled to protect the Ummah [nation] and its dignity.

"We support the Islamic resistance as well as any other resistance movement that stands in the face of the "Israeli" enemy, be it Muslims, Christians, or else."
