First Islamic Theology Center Opens in Germany

Navideshahed: The Center of Islamic Theology Center was opened by Antje Schwan, Minister of Education and member of the Christian Democrat Union at University of Tübingen in Germany.

According to Navideshahed quoting the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), 23 female and 13 male students have registered for BA course in Islamic theology presented at the center.

Those educated in this field hope that the Education Office would include the discipline in the countrys high school curriculum.

The move is partially aimed at educating future Imams of mosques across Germany, IQNA reported.

It is reported that three more centers of Islamic theology are to be founded in Osnabrück-Münster, Erlangen-Nuremberg and Frankfurt-Giessen in the near future by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
