Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Moballeghi, head of Proximity Studies Research Center announced Sunni and Shia clerics are to discuss their views in the form of proximity rings through talk shows on Lebanese Al Menar TV, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
According to the Iranian cleric, the move is a joint effort of Lebanon Al Menar TV and Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
More than 11 rings have been held and the program is to be aired in near future.
Hujjt-ol-Islam Mobaleghi also said in each ring one Shia and one Sunni cleric discuss their views on proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, solutions, threats and the challenges on the way of the Muslim unity.
Iranian religious figure praised the move as a new and valuable innovation expressing hope that these scientific discussions will have a positive effect on Muslim proximity and nearness of the Islamic nations.
