Comprehensive Quran Encyclopedia to be Published

Navideshahed: The first comprehensive Encyclopedia of the Holy Quran in English will be published by the Canada-based Islam and Science Institute.

According to the Head of the institute Professor Muzaffar Iqbal who, speaking in a forum on Saturday, said the first volume of the work is planned to be released in the holy month of Ramadan.

He said the Islamc and Science Institute began compiling the encyclopedia in 2008, adding that upon completion, it will have 7 volumes.

Noting that the enemies seek to put out the light of the Quran, Professor Iqbal stressed that it was upon Muslims to spread the message of the Quran in the world.

He regretted that many Muslims cannot benefit from the Holy Book as they should, saying that some Muslims can read the Quran but not all of them are able to understand its meaning and concepts.

In the Saturday forum, held at the Tabresi Hall of the Islamic Research Foundation, three scholars of the foundation Hojat-ol-Islam Ramin Golmakani (author of Imam Hussein (AS) Encyclopedia), Ahmad Rezvani and Nasrin Ahmadian Shalchi were honored for their works.
