Islamic Virtual Universities Network Launched

Navideshahed: Islamic virtual universities network was inaugurated in a special ceremony in Payam-e-Nour University.

According to Navideshahed quoting IQNA, the ceremony was attended by the deputy minister of education in international affairs, head of the ministry’s Center for International-Academic Cooperation, as well as Professor Ata Al-Rahman, coordinator of the permanent Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH).

The network was launched in Payam-e Nour University, as the representative of scientific and research centers in the country, in the presence of ambassadors from 19 Islamic countries that are members of COMSTECH.

The plan for launching the network by the Islamic Republic of Iran was approved in the 13th public assembly of COMSTECH held in 2008 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The network is intended to promote educational and scientific relations among virtual universities in the Islamic world, urging them to have more academic interactions and share their capabilities for carrying out joint projects.

All universities that offer their educational and research services via the internet can join the network at IINVU.pnu.ac.ir.

The network is also equipped with a virtual library, amphitheater and laboratory as well as some virtual classes.
