3rd National Quran Contest Concludes in Sudan

Navideshahed: The closing ceremony of the 3rd national Quran contest in Sudan was held on December 25 in the presence of the countrys Minister of Guidance and Endowments at Al-Sedaghah Hall in the capital city of Khartoum.

According to Navideshahed quoting the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the contest was organized by the Holy Quran Association for 21 thousand participants from all over the country.

10 male and 10 female participants were selected as the winners in each category of this edition of the contest. They were awarded by Khalil Abdullah, the Sudanese Minister, IQNA reported.

The minister appreciated the active participation of people in the competition and urged for development and promotion of such activities, stressing that the Ministry of Guidance supports Quranic activities.

Ibrahim Ahmad Umar, advisor to Sudans president also stressed the need for development of Quranic programs particularly in the field of Quranic concepts and called upon Quran memorizers to pay more attention to Quranic concepts and the lofty meanings of the Quranic verses.

The minister also met with Iran Cultural attaché in Khartoum and discussed ways for better organization of Quran contests in Iran and Sudan.
