The Role of Imam Khomeini and Martyr Sadr in Islamic Awakening Discussed
Navideshahed: A conference was held on October 16, in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq, to discuss the role of four leading figures of the Islamic world in religious and political scenes.
According to Navideshahed quoting Al-Alam News Network, the conference was attended by major political, religious and cultural figures of Iraq. It aimed to investigate the revolutionary and awakening role of Imam Khomeini, Martyr Seyyed Mohammad Baqer Sadr, Martyr Seyyed Mohammad Sadeq Sadr, and Martyr Seyyed Mohammad Baqer Al-Hakim.
Addressing the event, Mohammad Sadeq Al-Hashemi, member of Iraq’s research center, said these four prominent characters, in particular Imam Khomeini, brought back Islam to the Ummah and the Ummah to Islam.
Another speaker was Salah Al-Ubaidi, spokesman for the Martyr Sadr Office. He said the four characters not only greatly influenced the Islamic world, but their influence reached non-Muslim countries as well.
He added that Roger Garudi, the French intellectual, is among those influenced by Martyr Sadr and Imam Khomeini.
