Ayatollah Khamenei Terms Enemies

Navideshahed: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described US recent terrorism charges against Islamic Republic of Iran as meaningless and useless.

"They attempted to find an excuse through raising a meaningless and useless accusation against a number of Iranian nationals to wage a political propaganda attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran to introduce it as a sponsor of terrorism, but the conspiracy failed and will fail to produce any result and will remain futile and ineffective like their other measures," Ayatollah Khamenei said on Saturday, addressing a large gathering of people in the Western Kermanshah province.

"(Such plots) will lead to their own further isolation contrary to their imaginations," he added.

His remarks came after US officials on Tuesday alleged that they had charged two Iranians, one of them a dual US citizen, with preparing to carry out a bomb attack on the Saudi envoy under a plan "conceived, sponsored and directed from Iran".

The Leader underlined that Iran will stand firm against enemies and would not retreat even for an inch, and said, "The Islamic Republic will stand against oppressors and will not withdraw."

"The nation's resistance in maintaining national identity will help the country overcome the enemies," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

In relevant remarks on Thursday evening, the Supreme Leader lauded the Iranian nation's resistance against enemies' threats, and warned that any military aggression against Iran would be very costly for the enemies.

Ayatollah Khamenei, who was addressing Iranian military and law enforcement forces in the country's Western province of Kermanshah, pointed to the failures and losses sustained by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and his western supports during the 8 years of the imposed war on Iran in 1980s, and praised the resistance shown by the Iranian nation.

"The resistance and victory of the Iranian nation during the imposed war proved to the world that invasion of the Islamic Republic of Iran would incur heavy costs (on the enemies)," the Leader stated.
