Supreme Leader Warns about Harsh Consequences of Possible Aggression against Iran
Navideshahed: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, lauded the Iranian nation's resistance against enemies' threats, and warned that any military aggression against Iran would be very costly for the enemies.
Addressing Iranian military and security forces in the country's Western province of Kermanshah on Thursday evening, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and its western supports' failure during the 8 years of imposed war against Iran in 1980s, and praised the resistance shown by the Iranian nation.
"The resistance and victory of the Iranian nation during the imposed war proved to the world that invasion of the Islamic Republic of Iran would incur heavy costs (on the enemies)," the Leader stated.
Ayatollah Khamenei further blasted the United States' wrong policies and performance, and stressed that these wrong policies have pushed Washington into "quagmires".
He called on the US authorities to give up their failed and aggressive policies, and stated, "The repeat of the foolish and ineffective methods used by the West's helpless and confused policymakers to spread Iranophobia will remain futile again and will face failure."
After the US and its Zionist ally intensified their war rhetoric against Tehran, Iranian commanders said that the US fleets of warships are no longer a threat to the Islamic Republic since the IRGC now enjoys the capability to hit all US vessels and bases in the region.
Iran has repeatedly warned that its Armed Forces are fully prepared to immediately deliver a crushing response to any offensive on Iranian territory.
