Palestinians Pay Tribute to 1976 Martyr

Navideshahed: Thousands of Palestinians gathered in the occupied West Bank to commemorate the martyrdom of a Palestinian who was killed by Israeli forces in 1976.

The mourners carried a coffin which contained the remains of Hafiz Abu Zant, who was killed by Israeli forces in 1976, a Press TV correspondent reported on Monday.

The remains of Abu Zant were transferred to West Bank on Sunday afternoon.

Abu Zant and his two companions, Mashour al-Arouri and Khaled Abu Zayyad, who were members of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), were killed in the Jordan Valley during a military operation named “Lina Nabulsi.”?

Nabulsi was a Palestinian teenage girl killed by Israelis in 1976.

The remains of al-Arouri had been transferred from the Israeli occupied territories several months ago.

“The Palestinian people always remember the martyrs and commemorate their glory. They gathered once again in a massive scene. A scene that is emotional, religious and national. This is a memorable day,”? said one of the mourners.

It is believed that the bodies of “more than 350”? Palestinians killed by Israel in the past 64 years still remain in Israel's Cemetery of Numbers, which is described as “mass graves for Palestinians.”?
