Iranian Ayatollah Slams Anti-capitalism Repression in US

Navideshahed: The representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in eastern Azarbayjan, Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari slammed suppressing demonstrations in the US.

“Suppressing the demonstration in the US, known as the Occupied Wall Street (OWS) divulge the real face of human rights defenders,”? the ayatollah said as the suppression of demonstrators by US riot police sparked indignation at home.

“The protest campaign, known as 'Occupy Wall Street (OWS) has been continued since three weeks ago and we face the silence of international organizations,”? the Islamic scholar underscored.

“We observe how the government which poses itself as a defender of human rights suppresses protesters violently,”? the ayatollah said.

“American officials should deal with their own problems instead of meddling in the other countries’ inside affairs,”? the representative of Iran Supreme Leader in eastern Azarbayjan underlined.

“The distribution of wealth and power among the minority in this country causes many problems,”? said the ayatollah.

The OWS, which started on September 17, owes its name to the protesters' staunchly-maintained purpose to literally take over the US financial district until their demands are met.

" These truth all divulge the economic corruption of the US politicains and officials," he underlined.

It has taken shape against the high unemployment, which stood at 9.10 percent for August, home foreclosures, and 2008 corporate bailouts for banks among other things, while mainly raising objection to 'corporate greed' and the corporations excessive influence on the US political system.
