Iranian Parliament Speaker Asks Islamic States to Help Resolve the Palestine Issue

Navideshahed: Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday called on the world Muslim states to launch collective cooperation to help restore the rights of the Palestinian people and contribute a share to the resolution of the Palestine issue.

"Today, Palestine is the number one problem of the Muslim world, demanding the cooperation of all Islamic states for resolution," Larijani said in a meeting with Afghan Parliament Speaker Abdul Rahoof Ibrahimi and Head of Afghan Senate Fazl Ahmad Muslimyar in Tehran today.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, Larijani thanked the Afghan delegation for its participation in the conference, and stated that the Afghan people who have suffered war and foreign occupation are well familiar with the pains of the oppressed Palestinian people.

Abdul Rahoof Ibrahimi thanked Iran for hosting the pro-Palestine conference.

Fazl Ahmad Muslimyar, for his part, pointed to the commonalities between Iran and Afghanistan, and described the two countries' ties as "inseparable".

The 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada started work with the inaugural address of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in Tehran on Saturday.

Parliamentary delegations from Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Indonesia, Kuwait, Paraguay, Zimbabwe, Zanzibar, Comoros, Malawi, Egypt, Oman, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Malaysia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Sudan, Bolivia, Caucasus, Hungary, Colombia, Tanzania, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan are present in the two-day conference.
