Honorable but Not Expecting Much
(By Akber Ardestani, One of the martyr's brothers)
When my father went the way of all flesh, Martyr Sattary, along with some of the other commanders and Air Force personnel had come to Varamin to participate in the funeral ceremony of the deceased person. Martyr Sattary told me that day Haj Mostafa had done a great job in one of the extraterritorial operations and I went to Mehrabad along with some of the commanders of the Air Force to welcome him. When he got off the plane, I hugged him and congratulated him on his success by kissing his cheeks. Then, both of us got into the car to go to the Air Force Headquarters. Haj Mostafa said to the driver; (Go by the way of Shoosh square) I thought he wanted to do something on his way. So I didn't ask any questions. The car started to move and headed for Shoosh square. When we got to the square, he
said to the driver "stop! I want to get out." I thought he intended to buy something. But when he got out, he said, "Excuse me General, my children are in Varamin, and I want to go there." I said, "How? On what vehicle?" He said, "Varamin's station is next to Shoosh square. I will go by a minibus." I told him "We don't usually act like this, either you will be taken to Varamin and then I will be taken to the headquarters or we will go together to the headquarters. When I reach there, you'll be taken to Varamin."
No matter how hard I tried to convince him, but I failed. He said, "goodbye by," hands, and got away from the car, as I was familiar with his morals and as I knew that he avoided any kind of pride or self-arrogance I resigned myself to what he wanted and I saw him off up to the minibus station. He started to wait for a car among other people, and after a while, he got on the bus. He didn't care what type of honor he had performed for his country. He leaned on the minibus seat and we headquarters.
