Eminent but Unknown
(By Sayed Mohsen Ahmadi)
General Ardestani was always present in Friday and mass prayers, which were held in Sahebozzaman Mosque in Varamin led by Valiefagheeh's representative, prayer Imam Haj Sayed Morteza Mahmoudi. No one knew him, even me as a Moazzen, because he prayed in civilian clothes and in an extremely simple way like all the other ordinary prayers.
On a Friday, during the years of the sacred defense, which was at the same time as universal day, a large number of people and authorities were present. One of my friends, a member of Varamni's Friday prayer staff, gave me a piece of paper via someone. The note had the following text "Let's thank and appreciate the presence of General pilot, Mostafa Ardestani who is one of the commanders of the Islamic republic of Iran's Air Force and always participates in the crowded linens of Friday prayers."
After studying it, I took a closer look at people and especially the first lines of prayers. But I didn't find anyone looking like a General.
Therefore, I couldn't believe that he was among other people. But since one of the members of the Friday prayer staff had given me an order, I announced his presence doubtfully. After finishing the prayers, someone in ordinary and p;ain clothes by the tribune and looked at me and said "who told you that ardestanni should be thanked?" Brother.. Where is this brother? I don't know. I just received this paper having his signature. He took the paper, and looked at it for a moment and said,
"From now on, if you receive any of these sheets, having the name of Ardestani, don't announce it. "Then he said goodbye and went away. I told myself that maybe General Ardestani hadn't been present there, and there had been a mistake.
One of the evenings my friend and I were sitting at the end of the lines of afternoon evening mass prayers. After the prayer, my friend pointed to a man who was leaving the mosque and said, "Did you recognize this man?" "No, but I have seen him in the prayer lines lots of times."
"Why didn't you recognize him!" He is one of the commanders of the Air Force, General Ardestani.
Recently, I noticed that the person who objected to the announcement of his name was someone by the name of Haj Mostafa Ardestani.
