A Typical Day in Mostafa's Life

(By Colonel pilot, Ataollah Mohebbi)
In the early years of the imposed war of Iraq against Iran, I was sent on a 24-hour mission with Martyr Pilot Major General Haj Mostafa Ardestani to Omidieh Base. The extraordinary power that existed in the body of this untiring brave man even surprised me as a person who is a pilot like him!
After saying his prayers at half past 4 in the morning, he got into his iron-winged bird and appeared over the forces and sensitive military and economic centers of the enemy more than 7 times. He dropped fiery bombs and machine-gun bullets on them to show the wrath of the Moslem people. In a way that he thought it was pray in midday (afternoon and evening prayer) and be busy with some other necessary harmonies?
It happened frequently that he didn't even dedicate any time to having lunch and he took some pieces of dry bread with him to the cockpit and he ate his food there. He got into his car at 6 p.m. in the twilight, the time when airplanes couldn't fly. Then, he would go to the quarters situated in that area in order to make the necessary coordination for the flights, which were to be done the next day to support home front forces.

He would leave the war zone at 12 o'clock midnight and eat a little food and rest for a while, His good way of reading the Quran broke the morning silence and then he silently prayed for his needs. He said his morning prayers after the night prayer. Then he went into the hangar. We never formed a gathering in that area before he did. When we reached hangars, we saw him doing exercises and then another day started in the same old manner and. He was indeed an exact example of a day's lion and a night's hermit. Very few of his fellow men could match him!
