I Lost My Toe - nails
(Martyr Sattary's Memories)
I remember once, there was a severe blizzard, I had no shoes, usually they bought me trainers to last me one year. On my way there was a hill through which the railroad passed. I had to pass through it. As I did, a sudden gust of wind blew
me up like a piece of paper and dipped me into the snow. I sank a little and felt like going unconscious.
I don't know what happened but eventually I shinnied up. I set off for Baqerabad. I had an
acquaintance there. There was a brook passing in front of his house. I crossed the bridge, knocked the door twice or three times and then I fainted.
Later they had opened the door and taken me into the house and put me under korsi (a traditional heating system). I came to after two hours. Later my toe- nails got bruised and fell off.
