Introduction of Structure and Activities:

As a research unit under the supervision of Research and Cultural Relations Deputy of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs”; Specialized Library of Self Sacrifice and Martyrdom provides services and specialized information in order to improve the quality of research programs regarding self sacrifice and martyrdom and also meet information demands of researchers and university students. To provide these services, this library benefits from information dissemination technology (IT).

History:

As one of the specialized libraries in line with the fulfilling the objectives of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs”, this library was established in 1996. This library joined formal libraries of country in March 2005. Since that time, this library provides services to researchers as a research and information dissemination unit in the field of self sacrifice and martyrdom.

Objectives:

1 – Meeting information demands of users through providing information fast

2 – Helping improvement of quality of research programs by benefiting from different sources

Duties:

1 – Collecting books and publications in the field of self sacrifice and martyrdom

2 – Establishing an information center of books and publications related to the subjects of self sacrifice and martyrdom

3 – Collecting sources and information required by researchers regarding the subjects of self sacrifice and martyrdom

4 – Making efforts in order to achieve to the newest information regarding the works published with the subjects of self sacrifice and martyrdom

Sources and documents in this library are available with the followings subjects:

1 – The Knowledge about self sacrifice and martyrdom

4 – Self sacrifice and martyrdom in the legal point of view

5 – Self sacrifice and martyrdom fro the cultural and social point of view

6 – Self sacrifice and martyrdom in religious sources

7 – Reference books and interesting boos 

 

Marketing System and Method of Searching for Sources:

The sources have been listed based on C1 Classification. And shelves have been arranged with the system of packages.

The library uses the software of “Pars Azerakhsh”. And the list of books in this library can be searched by using this software.

Some statistics regarding the library by March 2006:

Area of the library: 323 square meters (Book storage room and the Study Hall)

Total number of titles of books in the library: 4000 titles of books

Total number of university theses and research plans: 500 titles

 

Public Services of the Library:

1 – Giving the sources of the library in trust to clients according to the approved article

2 – Letting people use the Study Hall of the library

3 – Providing services such as introducing and giving required sources and answering to specialized questions

 

Terms and Conditions of Membership:

1 – Having a creditable letter of introduction from governmental or private centers or universities

2 – Two photos with the size of 3 * 4 cm

3 – Copy of Identification Card (Having the original Identification Card is required in order to check the originality)

4 – Checking and signing the related forms

 

Conditions for Using the Books and Working Hours of the Library:

At the present time, using the specialized library of self sacrifice and martyrdom is free for public since Saturday to Wednesday. And the working hour is since 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. But the sources of the library will be given in trust merely to the members of the library.

On the Occasion of Anniversary of Freeing Khorramshahr;

A Collection of Posters Shown in “Resistance Poster Exhibition” Was Published

TEHRAN, (SCIB) – On the occasion of May 24th, the anniversary of freeing Khorramshahr, 75 posters with the subjects of “Resistance, Self Sacrifice and Victory” was published by “General Administration of Propagation and Cultural Centers” of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs”.

According to the reporter of Navideshahed; Eskandar Yar Nassab, General Director of Propagation and Cultural Centers of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs” announced the above news and said: “These posters had been shown in “Resistance Poster Festival” last year. They were selected out of 650 posters received by the secretariat of the festival.”

In continuation, Yar Nassab said: “These 75 selected posters were shown in an exhibition in “Imam Ali Museum” Last year.”

He further added: “These posters were published in the size of 50 * 70 cm and with the circulation of one thousand copies this year. They were sent to all provinces of the country in order to be shown in different exhibitions.”

In conclusion, Yar Nassab said: “In order to receive these posters, different foundations and organizations can refer to “General Administration of Propagation and Cultural Centers” located at the following address:
