TEHRAN, (SCIB) - “War Literature should not reach a point of Pure Literature, it has to be strong enough to convey its meanings properly”? said Alireza Kamreyi. The Sacred Defense Literature author and researcher stated today in the conference on Sacred Defense Writers “The sacred defense is of historical and global significance which should be studied by sciences like economy, sociology and anthropology. Anybody wishing to write on Sacred Defense should be aware of this significance. Lack of the awareness will result in us being judgmental on the basis of our personal impressions.”? Kamareyi went on to say, “To comprehend the war well, one has to know philosophy. It is not that easy to deploy the words of a language to denote surrounding circumstances.”? He pointed out, “Understanding the dimensions and significance of the war calls for an establishment of research institutions. This need hasn’t been met yet.”? The Sacred Defense researcher concluded, “Several approaches to the sacred defense have already been studied. One of these was “Political analysis and Explanatory studies”? which has been the object of attention abroad." "Historical Description”?, “Critical Approach”?, “Strategic military theorization”? and “Socio-cultural Studies”? have been other approaches to the study of Sacred Defense with very sporadic literature available on each approach. He added, “But the main approach here has been the literary one, involving philosophical, epic, and religious aspects. In the 11-year war between Iran and Russia no such a thing as “war literature”? was produced. But during the 8 years of sacred defense, artistic creations about the war including war literature emerged. The art of sacred defense sometimes acts stronger than a weapon.”? He stressed on the need to be objective when talking about literature and said, “Some people say we still have a long way to reach a literary masterpiece like Tolstory’s “War and Peace”?. But I believe that book was the outcome of a long trend in one country, like a fruit produced in one country which may not be reproduced in another.”? He concluded, “Our literature has to be strong to be able to properly achieve the clarity of its content. We need to modify the language of our literature to achieve the clarity of content. Literature should not just be pre-occupied with its form; it should focus more on its content.”?
