Supreme Leader Underlines Safeguarding Islamic, Revolutionary Culture

Speaking Thursday in a meeting with chairman and members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the basis of resistance and movement of the Islamic Establishment is safeguarding the Islamic and revolutionary culture and strengthening the faithful cultural trend.
His Eminence stressed the revolutionary spirit of the people of Islamic Iran, saying that the revolutionary spirit is still alive in the Iranian nation and what happened in February 11 (massive rallies marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory) is a proof for that.
Ayatollah Khamenei further referred to the hatred and animosity of the enemies towards the Iranian nation and urged the country’s officials not to overlook the hostility of the enemies.
“The front of arrogant powers has deep spite against the Iranian nation and today everyone can see the enemies’ hatred and animosity in their remarks.”?
The Supreme Leader also regarded it as a responsibility for the Iranian officials to implement the policies of the Resistance Economy, and noted that the enemies have failed to defeat the Islamic Establishment and Iranian nation, a reality whose proof is the ineffectiveness of (Western-imposed) sanctions on Iran.
Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to some oppositions to the phrase “Islamic Awakening”? and said it has become clear today that this awakening (the uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa) have been entirely related to Islam.
His Eminence said although the enemies have ostensibly smothered it (Islamic Awakening tide), the spirit of self-confidence and the feeling of Islamic identity will never fade.
Prior to the Supreme Leader’s statements, Chairman of the Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mahdavi-Kani and its Vice-chairman Ayatollah Yazdi presented a report about the 15th session of the assembly.
