Islamic Awakening Supreme Council to Convene in Tehran

Navideshahed- The Islamic Awakening Supreme Council will hold a meeting in Tehran in coming weeks under the chairmanship of former Iraqi prime minister, Ibrahim al-Jafari, an adviser to the Supreme Leader said.

Speaking on Sunday, Ali Akbar Velayati, who is also the head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council, said the meeting of Supreme Council of the Islamic Awakening will be held in the Iranian capital on March 10.
He said Ibrahim al-Jafari will lead the council meeting.
Jafari (born 1947) is an Iraqi politician who was prime minister of Iraq in the Iraqi Transitional Government from 2005 to 2006, following the January 2005 election.
Velayati further announced that an international conference, too, is scheduled to be held in Tehran on March 11-12, on the role of the Islamic World in the structure of global power.
