Brigadier General Yadollah Kalhor

Navideshahed- Yadollah (God’s hand) was born to be a hand among thousands of other hands helping the God’s religion and the Islamic revolution.



Yadollah Kalhor was born in Baba Salman suburb of Karaj in a noble and religious family in 1955. His father says: Since his childhood, he was so silent, polite and serious. He began saying his prayers very soon. He stood behind all the prayers in the mosque in his public prayers to respect the adults. Yadollah was strong; he had Islamic morals despite of his physical strength. He always supported children and took care of them. He was too young to understand clearly the meaning of guest and hospitality but he invited his friends to lunch when he was a preschool kid. Yadollah was so merciful and kind.
His family knew Imam Khomeini and followed his religious leadership so he studied some of his books as well as his (pamphlet) “Resaleh”? and got acquainted with Imam Khomeini’s ideas and thoughts.
He gathered his fellow soldiers and explained the nature of Pahlavi regime. As the sparks of the Islamic Revolution rose, Yadollah entered the political environment. He gathered his young friends and talked to them about Imam and persuaded them to fight against Shah’s regime. He was the first who shouted Allh o Akbar and Down with Shah in Baba Salmon mosque. He was prosecuted by the Shahriar police for a while. He extended his activities cautiously. He actively participated in the revolution scenes. He moved to Tehran in the last days of the revolution to act more effectively. He took part in the marches and demonstrations actively. 1979, while conquering Baghshah Garrison, he was wounded in the foot and confided in hospital for some days.
After the victory of the Islamic revolution of Iran, he was so active in security affairs. He was one of those who had found the Revolutionary Guards in Karaj district. In March 1980, by the beginning of anti-revolutionary activities, he set off to Kurdistan as a commander and he fought against anti-revolutionists for a while.
Since he was a devoted Revolutionary Guard, he arranged some of the Revolutionary Guards of Karaj and moved to the fronts of Sarpol-e- Zahab and Gilan-e- Gharb and there, they fought against the enemies for some times. He did his best to free Gilan-e-Gharb from enemies and showed his courage.
He took position in Abadan front and just in a critical situation; he helped other defendant to save Abadan from collapse and occupation. The commanders soon understood his competences and they used his military abilities in different positions. He played a big role in formation of Almahdi brigade and he was elected as the deputy commander of Almahdi brigade.
When he entered the sacred defense, he had high and leading responsibilities and took part in most of the operations. He was wounded several times. In Fathol Mobin operation he broke the defending lines of the enemies but in the district of Om Ol Resas he was injured. He lost one of his kidneys. One of his hands was also became paralyzed because of the bomb splinters. All his body was injured by hitting the splinters but he wouldn’t like to leave the front and the forces.
In Fathol Mobin operation, he was the deputy commander of the Brigade and in the axis of Fakeh and Raghabiyeh, he hazarded his life. After the formation of Almahdi Brigade, he played a big role in planning and directing the operations. Having active role in Ramadan Operation in Mohammad Rasool Allah (PBUH) division 27, he was elected as deputy. He had a determinative presence there in preliminary operation Valfajr 1.
In Operation Valfajer 8 he took part and directed the forces. He was wounded severely, then he was confined in hospital for about one year and not cured completely but he hastened to the front and had a heroic presence in operations Karbala 4 and 5.
Martyr Kalhor, who was always carrying a bag of forsythia blooms and was impatient to reach a red-carpet treatment momentarily, at last at Shalamcheh received the invitation card to join the Heavenly Party. On 21 January, 1987, in Operation Karbala 5 in Shalamcheh district while he was heading towards the back front to attend a session, he got the password to ascend the Supernal World and failed the earthly session and was martyred by hitting with shrapnel to his head.
