Sacrifice and Martyrdom writers receive praise

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The third tribute ceremony to writers of sacrifice and martyrdom literature was held in the writer's pavilion of Tehran international book fair.

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The third tribute ceremony to writers of sacrifice and martyrdom literature was held in the writer's pavilion of Tehran international book fair. The event hosted the head of the research and cultural relations department of the foundation of martyrs and veterans’ affairs, the head of the foundation’s publishing section, Dr. Parviz and many other interested participants. Mohammad Ali Faqih, head of the foundation’s publishing section, said that the foundation of martyrs and veterans’ affairs was trying their best to accelerate activities in the cultural arena. “We have held several specialized meetings for the writers to provide them with space to air their views. The third tribute ceremony to sacrifice and martyrdom writers is another attempt to pave the way for the exchange of ideas among these writers”? Faqih said. “We intend to globalize writing in this field because sacrifice and martyrdom are global issues.”? Talks with some international publishers have also taken place, Faqih announced. “Cultural organizations that are working on different aspects of sacrifice and martyrdom need to focus on a single aspect each in order to make their work more efficient.”? The ceremony continued by paying tribute to 11 successful writers in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom. A certificate of appreciation and two Bahar-e-Azadi gold coins were presented to sacrifice and martyrdom writers who had been selected by various national festivals in the past two years. The writers who received awards included: -Jalil Amjadi, author of “Rays of light”? for ranking first in Martyr Ghanipour festival -Mohsen Jaffari Motlagh, author of “Welcome to Khoramshahr”?, for ranking third in the 10th book festival - Norouz Abbasi, illustrator of “Welcome to Khoramshahr”?, for ranking third in the 10th book festival. -Hadi Khorshahian, author of “Comrades in Heaven”? for ranking third in the 10th book festival. - Rahim Makhdoomi, author of “Who pulled the trigger?”? for ranking first and second in Martyr Ghanipour and the 9th book festival respectively. - Narges Abyar, author of “Mountain of the shoulders of a tree”? for ranking first in the 8th book festival - Davoud Amirian, author of “Story of Behnam”? for winning the trophy of Martyr Ghanipour festival. The second section of the tribute ceremony celebrated the works of the following: -The family of Martyr Ghanipour, for his lasting works in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom, especially his book “Journey to the South”? which secured the second rank in the book festival of 2004. -The family of Martyr Rezaee, for his”? memoirs”? that got praised in the 10th festival. - Mojtaba Shakeri (severely injured war veteran), for his active presence in the composition and publishing of book s in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom. - Abdulhamid Rahmanian (previous prisoner of war, for his active presence in the composition and publishing of book s in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom. The awards were distributed by the head of the research and cultural relations department of the foundation of martyrs and veterans’ affairs, head of the foundations publishing section, head of the Basij office for arts and literature and Dr. Parviz.
