The Cleric whose Skull they Cracked with Bayonet

Navideshahed: When the sheikh fell down on the ground, the enemies got close to him and they spilt his head and removed his skull by a bayonet.

According to Mashregh News Jihad and Resistance Group, Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Sharif Ghonooti who had been known as ‘Sheikh Sharif’ during the initial days of war was born on June 24, 1934 in Ghasbeh village located in Abadan city. During childhood, Sheikh learnt the religious education and percepts and he learnt the primary things of Islam from his uncle Abdol Satar Eslami and then he attended the seminary of his city. Nevertheless he acquired the religious education of seminary by presence of Abdol Rasul Ghaemi in Abadan city.

After that he went to Qom seminary to complete his education. He learnt lessons from Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Reza Golpayegani and also Imam Khomeini and he advanced until the position of religious leadership.

He started his political fighting during the time of Fadaeyan Islam group and he had a little cooperation with this group especially with martyr Seyed Mojtaba Mir Lohi Navab Safavi.

By the beginning of Islamic party under leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1963, the activities of Sharif Ghonoti got intensified more. Despite of the stifling atmosphere that existed during Pahlavi’s regime, he would go to the mosques and give speech and reveal the realities. He would defend Imam Khomeini obviously and he would share the announcements of Imam Khomeini along with the assistance of comrades among the people.

After the victory of Islamic Revolution, Mohammad Hassan Sharif Ghonoti went to Ardakan city located in Fars province and according to the request of local people he accepted the responsibility of city council. He continued his development and social activities by the assistance of Baha Al-Din Mohallati and Abdol-Karim Rabani Shirazi. At the beginning of 1980 he went to Brojerd city and he worked as the special agent of Islamic Revolution Public Prosecutor in this city.

When the Imposed War Era of Iraq against Iran started, Sheikh firstly established the foundation to dispatch war veterans to the battlefields in Brojerd city and he went to the battlefields of Iran-Iraq war (Khorramshahr) on September 25, 1980 along with the people gifts to war veterans.

When he returned, he worked in the Basij of People forces and he would send the volunteers to the battlefields. In the mid of October he went to Khorramshahr along with a committee of youths from Brojerd city and he himself wore the military uniform and he saved Khorramshahr from getting in the control of enemy several times by creating the guerilla groups of Allah O Abkar and Resistance Groups.

Sheikh Sharif in addition of commanding some of the strips in Khorramshahr and directing forces, he was the authority of supplying munitions to the forces as well. He was martyred on October 16, 1980 when he was delivering the munitions to one of the fighting involvement in the 40-meter street of Khorramshahr city.
