American translator of “Chess with the Resurrection machine”? to come to Iran

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Paul Sparkman, American translator of “Journey to Heading 270 Degrees”? and Professor of Persian Literature in Rutgers University, is traveling to Iran to both visit the book fair and clarify his doubts in the translation of “ Chess with the Resurrection machine”?.

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Paul Sparkman, American translator of “Journey to Heading 270 Degrees”? and Professor of Persian Literature in Rutgers University, is traveling to Iran to both visit the book fair and clarify his doubts in the translation of “ Chess with the Resurrection machine”?. Having translated more than two thirds of Habib Ahmad Zadeh’s novel into English, Sparkman intends to visit Ahmad Zadeh in Tehran to discuss points of doubt with the book’s author. The American translator had traveled to Iran last year as well, after the publication of the English translation of “Journey to Heading 270 Degrees”?. During his last trip, he selected several publications of Soore-ye-Mehr publishing company to translate into English and Ahmad Zadeh’s novel caught his attention. Sparkman holds in PHD in Persian Literature from Chicago University and an MA in Arab Literature from Rutgers University. He has translated many important classic and contemporary works of Persian Literature into English. Ebrahim Golestan’s “Esmat’s journey”?, Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh’s “Once upon a Time”? and “ “and Jalal Al Ahmad’s “Westernization”? are some of Sprachman’s previous works. Sprachman has also penned books in Farsi. Some of these are “Licenced fool, The life and works of Obeid Zakani”? and “Persian Language and Culture”?.
