Iran would continue its support for Palestinians: President

Iran would continue its support for Palestinians, President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday.

He made the remarks in the conference on World Mosque Day.

President hailed religious leaderˈs efforts in support of Gaza people against the Zionist regime.


Iran will do its best in support of Palestinian nation till the freedom of occupied lands, he added.


Iran is against extremism and terrorism and offered the War Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal in the UN which was overwhelmingly accepted by the member states, President Rouhani said.



He referred to Iraqi Army victories in the fight against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (known as Daesh) and hailed volunteers and religious leadersˈ efforts in this regard.



The conference on World Mosque Day opened in presence of President Rouhani on Monday.



Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah Zawawi and representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Qatar, UAE, Syria and Tunisia embassies in Iran attended the conference.
