Workshop of Resistance Art Will Become International since Next Year

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Secretariat of the First Workshop of Resistance Art”? said: “Following presence of foreign artists next to Iranian painters, this workshop will become international since next year (March 2008).

In an interview with Navideshahed; Gholam-ali Taheri said: “Resistance Art Exhibition will be held in Saba Cultural Art Institution on February 12th concurrent with 7th Biennial Painting Exhibition. And holding this exhibition at this particular time is in line with making this workshop international since next year.”? During this 3-day workshop, which was held by “Palestine Contemporary Arts Museum”? in cooperation with “Contemporary Arts Museum”? and “Fine Arts Office of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance”? and “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs”?, 80 percent of works presented in the workshop were selected to be shown in the exhibition, he added. Creativity, appropriate use of imaginary elements in expressing concepts, feelings and personal expression of the artist about the concept of resistance and paying attention to space, form and pictorial symbols relying on Iranian painting identity have been the criteria for judges to select the best works based on them, Taheri further mentioned. Considering these criteria, four art works have been selected as the best works in the section of “Designing and Painting”?. And art works of 10 artists entered the competition section that will be presented prizes, Taheri concluded.
