TEHRAN, (SCIB)- One can not force writers into one category, but writers of holy defense literature follow the path of Ashoora, Belgheis Soleimani told Shahed in an exclusive interview. “Narrative literature has improved remarkably in the past 10 years, It has entered urban context and is dealing with new social issues. It has done away with its prescriptive tone and assumed a more descriptive one.”? the war writer told our reporter. “ Holy defense literature has been no exception, it has been exposed to international and domestic issues and due to the peaceful political atmosphere inside the country it has made significant progess”? The 1380’s (2001-2011) is a very influential one in holy defense literature. “ A skilled writer is one who can learn from past experiences and present circumstances and base his writings on insight he has acquired because of exposure to these two. Of course, sometimes the heart and mind just clash and that conflict is reflected in writing. I think the writer should try to leave his emotions, preconceptions and prejudices aside before attempting to write.”? According to Soleimani, the choice of vocabulary has received new and unprecedented attention in the work of recent writers. “If the story is successful is making use of the words, these new words will be absorbed into the vocabulary of the reader”? “Recent writers don’t base their stories on narration of personal experiences; this is probably because storytellers of the 1380’s don’t have that much experience in their lives yet. This is true especially in the case of female writers who tend to focus more on details rather than create a pure narrative work.”? “This is relatively normal though. Poets and writers usually incorporate much of their personal character traits into their initial works. So their ‘self’ is more pronounced in their initial works. They need a lot of reading and practice to get over their own ‘self’.”? Referring to great writers like Dowlat Abadi and Ahmad Mahmoud, Soleimani said: “ These writers incorporated their personal experiences into social interactions depicted in their works. That has been replaced by depiction of coffee shops and restaurants in the work of younger writers. You rarely find philosophical thoughts in more recent works;in other words, recent works in literature have become very ‘personal’.”? “However, every writer has to go through this phase to mature. But young writers shouldn’t wait for a miracle to take them to maturity. They have to be eager to discover, learn, read, read and read more.”? There can not be a single solution to keep literature from distortion and banality. “One can not suggest a single solution for this problem. A single solution will not work. One can not define a set of strict rules for the writing of short stories and poems and expect writers to comply. I think narrative literature has just entered a new phase where it should be give a chance to find its own form. Only when it finds its own farm can competent writers realize their true potentials and follow the path of old writers.”?
