Leader’s Representative at Martyrs Foundation Thanks Iraq for Funeral Procession

Here, on Iraqi soil, I would like to present a message of appreciation and gratitude to the respected government of the Republic of Iraq, to the honorable and distinguished religious scholars and senior clerics, to the noble and authentic tribal leaders and clans of Iraq, to the families of the dear and glorious martyrs of the Resistance, to the steadfast Resistance factions, and to the honorable, faithful, and proud Iraqi people.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

In these days when sorrow has cast its shadow over the heart of the Iranian people, and in these difficult moments when we bid farewell to the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, when eyes shed tears of loss and grief and hearts mourn a beloved leader who rose to martyrdom in the path of God, your brotherly mass presence at the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah al-Uzma Sayyed Ali Khamenei, may his noble soul rest in peace, along with your sincere condolences and your noble support for the Iranian people, has been a balm for wounded hearts and a light in the darkness of this great calamity.

The stance of the government of the Republic of Iraq, its honorable people, its scholars and senior clerics, its authentic tribal leaders, the families of its righteous martyrs, and its steadfast Resistance factions during these sorrowful days has spoken more eloquently than any words of condolence. By standing with us, you have said that our sorrows are one, our grief is shared, and what unites hearts is greater than all borders and distances.

In Iran, as we receive your condolences and sympathy, we do not regard this noble position merely as an expression of grief and solidarity. Rather, we see in it a shining image of loyalty, brotherhood, and shared destiny — a brotherhood woven from the threads of faith, watered by the blood of martyrs, illuminated by the light of the Holy Quran and the love of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and overshadowed by the banner of Sayyed al-Shuhada, Abu Abdullah al-Hussain, peace be upon him.

The Iranian people, who preserve in their memory the most beautiful images of loyalty, will never forget the noble brotherly positions taken by Iraq — its government, people, and authentic tribes — beside them during the difficult days of the Ramadan War. Those days revealed the true essence of men and showed that free nations do not abandon the oppressed in solitude, nor do they forsake the truth when trials intensify. They showed that when the banner of resistance is raised, it knows no borders, and that the pure blood shed in the path of dignity and freedom binds hearts before it binds homelands.

In those days, as in these days, brotherly Iraq proved that true brotherhood is not measured by words, but is known in times of hardship; and that loyalty is not spoken, but seen in actions and written in the pages of history in ink that time cannot erase.

Today, as we live through this great tragedy, we once again recall that truth: the truth of a brotherhood born from the womb of Karbala, nurtured in the school of Ashura, and embodied on the path of Arbaeen, where millions of people from Iran, Iraq, and all free people of the world walk together — hearts barefoot before their feet — carrying the banner of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, and inscribing with their steps on the roads of love and sacrifice an epic of humanity rarely seen in history. How beautiful it is that Hussain unites us, how  it is that Karbala becomes a bridge between hearts, and how the Arbaeen path becomes a road where brother meets brother, lover meets beloved, martyr meets memory, and the meets its hope.
