Iran slams assassinating its leaders as ‘dangerous perversion’ toward rule of force
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a message of condolences over the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying the criminal assassination by the US and Israel marks a “dangerous perversion” toward the rule of force.
“Unprovoked military aggression against Iran, the assassination of the country’s leaders, and the killing of innocent civilians is a highly dangerous perversion in international relations and a terrifying shift towards blatant bullying and unchecked force at the global level,” the Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
It added that the “terrorist act” of the United States and the Israeli regime is an unprecedented violation of all accepted norms, ethical foundations, and the most fundamental rules of the United Nations Charter and international law.
The Iranian nation “will continue its path of independence, dignity, and resistance with greater determination, and the enemies of this nation well know that martyrdom is not the end of a path, but the beginning of a new phase of responsibility and historical endurance,” it added.
Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in a US-Israeli act of aggression in Tehran on Saturday.
