Veteran Champions’ Achievements Bring Pride to the Islamic Republic
Saeed Ohadi stated: Veterans, children of martyrs, and veterans have excelled in the country's championship arenas and are a source of pride and honor for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Today, we witness the brilliance of heroes who, despite physical limitations, have displayed their willpower and faith.


According to NavideShahed news agency, Engineer Saeed Ohadi, Vice President and Head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, at the second ceremony honoring medal-winning veterans on the global stage titled "Pahlavani Summit," held today, Tuesday, October 13, 2025, in the presence of officials from the Foundation, managers, athletes, families of martyrs and veterans, commemorated the memory of martyrs, especially athlete martyrs. He stated: Sports holds a special place in society and increases vitality, cheerfulness, and solidarity among people. As championship sports in fields such as wrestling keep alive the spirit of unity and pride among the Iranian nation.

He emphasized the importance of attention to the sports of veterans and the veterans' community, adding: Veterans, children of martyrs, and veterans have excelled in the country's championship arenas and are a source of pride and honor for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Today, we witness the brilliance of heroes who, despite physical limitations, have demonstrated their willpower and faith.

The Head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, referring to the deep impact of sports in society, especially among the esteemed veterans, noted: God Almighty has granted the martyrs, veterans, and freed prisoners of our country an honor that is both innate and acquired; they are the pride and dignity of the Iranian nation.

Ohadi pointed to the impressive achievements of the veterans’ community: The medals earned by veterans and martyrs’ children are three times those of other athletes in the country, which indicates the high spirit of sacrifice, effort, and self-confidence among them. Our veterans today are honored with dignity and pride in society, and this tribute is a commemoration of the heroic spirit of the Iranian nation.

He recalled the bravery of freed prisoners during years of captivity and their sports activities even in the solitary cells of the Baathist regime of Saddam, adding: Our religious teachings emphasize sports and strengthening both body and soul. Investing in the sports sector of the veterans’ community will undoubtedly pave the way for achieving honor for the country.

The Vice President concluded by citing Imam Ali’s (peace be upon him) saying: "The strongest people are those who have the greatest mastery over their own selves." Our dear veterans are a true embodiment of this statement; by mastering their will and spirit, they have demonstrated the highest levels of perfection and faith in practice.
