Qassem says Hezbollah will not lay down weapons
Sheikh Naim Qassem vowed that Hezbollah would never lay down its weapons or leave the battlefield.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem has emphasized that the force will never abandon the battlefields and will not lay down its weapons.

Qassem made the remarks during a televised speech commemorating the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyid Hashem Safieddine on Saturday.

Qassem added, “The path of Hezbollah was built through the thought, spirit, and blood of martyr Nasrallah. It stands as a symbol of a resistance that will be victorious.”

He added, “Nasrallah established a model of resistance that changed the face of the region and extended throughout the entire world.”

He said the resistance entered a major world war with Israeli mercenaries and unlimited American and European tyrannical support, which aimed to end the resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, and the entire region, allowing Israel to maintain and expand its dominance and seize whatever it desires.

Qassem also added, “We have restored our battle capabilities and are prepared to defend against the Israeli enemy. We have managed to remain on the battlefield, and in the political arena, we have achieved what we could not attain on the battlefield.”

“The remarks made by American envoy Barak clearly show that Washington seeks the disarmament of Hezbollah and will never provide arms to the Lebanese army to confront Israel. Disarmament means the removal of power, responding to Israel’s demands and fulfilling its objectives. We will not permit disarmament and will resist any plans that benefit Israel, even if they are disguised under a national initiative,” he added.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah emphasized, “The [Lebanese] government must fulfill its responsibilities regarding reconstruction and budget allocation. The government must prioritize national sovereignty, and this goal will be achieved by preventing Israel from remaining in Lebanon.”

He emphasized, “We are eager for national unity and strive for Lebanon’s prosperity in all fields.”

He added, “Lebanon must be strong, and the resistance is the foundation of its power. We must not surrender to aggressive threats and must prepare for confrontation, not submission.”
