With report of NAVID SHAHED Masoome Ramhormozi, born in 1344, is one of writers and researches of Holy Defense field and she is a member of memoir of Holy Defense committee of The Foundation for the Protection of Works and the Publishing of Holy Defense Values. "The last Sunday” is one of her works which, reprinted several times. Moreover, she published books such as "Ismail”, "the secret of pine tree”, "Comet stars”, "on the wings of angels”, ”Jewish in Qur’an” and "Israel in Palestine”. She now is editorial of a TV show. We speak with Ramhormozi about cinematic adaptation from literary works of Holy Defense field.

"The secret of pine tree” is one of your best sellers works which, published by Shahed publisher. How this work welcomed by documentary makers?

The documentary of "I am not Mitra” was based on book of "the secret of pine tree”. This documentary made by TV group of Seventh Sky for Ammar Festival. Firstly they suggested to make a documentary based on "the secret of pine tree”, but I didn’t accept. I thought it might lead to a minimalistic perception from the work and haven’t any attraction for me.

Contrary on my exception documentary of "I am not Mitra” was a good work and I became happy that I trusted on a young group. They had a defined scenario and they nicely rebuilt this book as a TV documentary. The role of Zeinab Komaee was acted by a youth actress and she did it well. This documentary has a great place.

How you trusted this documentary group?

It is true that our trust through youths is very little. I do not know why we trusted on youths very lately? They concentrated on this work faithfully and it was obvious that martyr Zeinab Komaee wasn’t only a TV subject for them. I think a reason for success of "I am not Mitra” is this point. We must trust to faith and beliefs of talented youths.

"The last Sunday” also is a known work. How documentary makers and film makers were welcome?

Maybe film makers three or four times contact with me for adaptation from this book but I had a condition for making film or a documentary which, was everything of film must be based on the book contents. None of the film makers and documentary makers didn’t accept my term.

Unfortunately some of documentary makers with buying the right of adaptation from writer consider they could have any interference in the content of the work. They counter with the work with their desires and idea. This is not right. The intellectual right of the work must be reserved. The document maker and the film maker couldn’t change the truth of the book with his/her own desires.

What is the approach of law about cinematic adaptation of literary works?

Unfortunately, there is no law about this subject. I believe that a cinematic work that is based on a book must not have conflict with truth of that literary work. The film maker could delete or add an element in scenes of a film. For example when you see the film of "Desiree” you do not find any conflict with the book. Expect the film is a short summary of the book. Summarizing must not hurt the content of a book.

Of course, we had a kind of adaptation by the name of "other narration”. In this kind of adaptation could change the time and location of the subject but must keep the main subject of the work. Directors couldn’t with buying the adaptation right do anything that they want.

It seems that cinematic adaptation from Holy Defense literary works is not much welcomed by film makers?

I think considerable volume of Holy Defense’s books have ability of becoming a film but they didn’t become a film because actually our film makers are not used to reading books. Literary and historical book for becoming cinematic requires study. In Holy Defense’s films combined adaptation also done from Holy Defense’s books. Of course it isn’t obvious that for writing a script the whole book is read or not? Even it might written by heard things.

Is not it time for encouraging film makers for adapting from literary works and concentrate on producing drama and scripts?

The society needs memories, scripts, drama and other literary works in field of Holy Defense. The Various centers for publishing Holy Defense works could beside of creating and publishing memorabilia attempt for producing scripts too. Maybe a sacrificial had a good memory. We could make that memory to a story and utilized from it. Generally, I believe that Holy Defense era have rainbow colors and we must search for new products from memories.
