Ramadan in War:

They Blew the Water Tanker Right before Iftar

Navideshahed: Mohammad Hassan Bakhshi in an exclusive interview with the Epic Culture Reporter of the Iranian Student’s News Agency (ISNA) described the atmosphere of battlefields during the Ramadan month.

Being a dentist, he says: “All the war veterans who were supposed to stay in a place for a long period of time, they would fast and they would gather in one place in the evening for Iftar occasion. A very big tablecloth would be put on the ground and they would break their day of fasting by reciting prayers and Iftar.”?

Usually the prayers would be recited by the commanders and since we were too young in the battlefields, we would learn the special prayers for Ramadan month from the commanders. Reciting Koran after Iftar and especially during the Ghdar nights were the special moments for us that will never be forgotten.

Sometimes the enemy would intensify its attacks against us at the time of Iftar and they would open fire towards us by their artilleries. Once they damaged the water tanker exactly at the time of Iftar, as a result we did not have any water to drink at the time of Iftar. Also sometimes they would open fire towards us so much and the quiver of one of the rockets cut off the foot of one of the war veterans as he was eating foods at the time of Iftar.

The End
