Martyr Saremi

Martyr \\\\\\\"Mahmoud Saremi,\\\\\\\" was born in 1969 in a village around Boroujerd called \\\\\\\"Chahar Barre\\\\\\\". He passed the entrance examination in the field of human geography at Tehran University, so he has chosen Tehran to live there , after spending a few semesters, he went to the battle front.He stayed there for 17 months and then returned to university and continued his studying. In 1991 he started his cooperation in the Foreign Service of the Islamic Republic News Agency and in 1992 while studying in the Masters at \\\\\\\'Shahid Beheshti University \\\\\\\' married \\\\\\\"Khadija Roozbahani\\\\\\\" .

“Our common life began with a very simple ceremony in Tehran and Boroujerd ; at that time I did not know anything about the problems of journalism and I could not imagine that my wife had so great job that sometimes caused damage in the quiet atmosphere of our home.”?said Roozbahani.
martyr Saremi has gotten a son in 1993,called \\\\\\\"Sina\\\\\\\" ; Roozbahani said:\\\\\\\"He was the best father in the world.”?

“Shahid Saremi has never transferred us the anxious of his job and always tried to make the environment of the home very quiet”? added she , “During the two years he was in Afghanistan,he spoke on the phone so that I thought , Afghanistan had a relaxed atmosphere.”?

Martyr Saremi went to Mazar-e Sharif on January 26 ,1996 as IRNA office manager in Afghanistan and stayed there for two years. He liked the oppressed people of Afghanistan as the same as his family ,Mahmoud got so familiar with these people .

The martyr\\\\\\\'s wife stated that she and the martyr\\\\\\\'s family were not in favor of sending him to Afghanistan, but he always said :”? \\\\\\\"I am responsible for the job which has been entrusted to me, and in addition,for more experience I should take part in this mission .\\\\\\\"

“I never thought that he would be martyred because I always dreamed about our future in my mind”? she continued ,”? In the last days that Mahmoud had come to Tehran ,we were watching one of the mournings on TV that was about martyrdom ,while watching tears came to his eyes and said :Definitely war is not good , but too bad that by finishing the war ,the door of the martyrdom is also closed. Martyr Saremi sincerely asked martyrdom from God and in less than a week he was martyred by Taliban in Mazar-e Sharif,in Afghanistan.\\\\\\\"
Roozbahanie said :”? I talked by phone with Mahmoud an hour before the arrival of the Taliban to Iran- consulate in Mazar-e Sharif , there was no discomfort or anxiety in his voice, he always emphasized a lot of respect for parents and at last he said : \\\\\\\"We only have one child so do your best for training him.\\\\\\\"
Roozbahani could not accept her husband’s martyrdom and it was very hard for her to persuade her son that he would never see his father again.

“Mahmoud was certaint that he is obliged to deliver the voice of oppressed group to the world. ”?said she.

It was the eighth of August 1998 that \\\\\\\"Mahmoud Saremi,the reporter of \\\\\\\" Islamic Republic News Agency,with eight members of Iranian consulate were martyred in Mazar-e Sharif, in Afghanistan, by the terrorist group,Taliban. For this occasion, the General Council,has named the eighth of August as the \\\\\\\"Reporter day\\\\\\\" in the official calendar .
