A Piece of Love,

Mother's Oblation was Accepted

Navideshahed: He had cried so much in the last days that he himself and the other comrades had gotten tired. One night before being dispatched to the war zone, we heard him crying outside the tent. We got out and saw him sitting humbly in a corner with tears running down his face.

Seyed Masoud Shojayee Tabatabyee, one of the photographers of the Holy Defense and one of the current artists in the Islamic Revolution Cultural battle has expressed some of his memories of the Imposed War:

There was a tough action in Ghalajeh, I swear to God that it was really difficult for us to leave each other. It was close to the sunset. The war veterans would hug each other firmly and they would cry in tears. They were lovers and nothing could be done in this field, although they themselves had promised not to be dependent to anything, but we had been fond of each other. Within a few hours the war veterans ought to cross the minefields under the heavy fire of enemy and to create another epic for the Holy Defense history.

All of them had been trained how to do that; so they needed to fight strongly and bravely in order to free Mehran city that had been considered as the winning card of Saddam Hussein. I was with the war veterans of the Army Seyed Al-Shohada. I can honestly say that the war veterans of propaganda unit struggled so much too. They had made a gate of Koran so that the war veterans would pass through this gate.

Haj Ali Fazli, the commander of the Army also shook hands and kissed all the war veterans; during this scene the war veterans could not leave him and he could not leave them too. It seemed they were doing for a wedding party. It seemed that there was a place to join the love.

In the photo you can see the chain of the lights. There is a young cleric who has held the Koran book and he is letting the war veterans to pass under the Holy Quran. There is a teenager who has sat on the ground and is doing a religious custom for them. In the photo his back is towards us. He was too young, since our tent was close to the war veterans of the staff; I had seen him several times. He had urged so much that they dispatch him along with the other war veterans, but he was too young, I think he was only 12 years old.
During the final moments he had cried so much in a way that he made himself and the personnel of the foundation tired. A night before my dispatch, I heard his voice exactly behind our tent. I got out of the tent and I saw that he had crouched in a corner and he was crying in tears.

Very simple while I felt that he had been chocked with tears, he hardly said: “I would like to go to the frontiers with other war veterans, but they don’t let me go there and they say that I’m too young.”?

I put my hand on his shoulder and I said: “First of all I should say that a man won’t cry, and secondly you have been able to come here with the war veterans, many young guys like you wish to come here, but they are not allowed to come here.”?

He said: “I asked my mother to vow that I come to the frontiers, if you don’t allow me to go to the battlefields, then my mother’s vowing won’t be fulfilled.”?

I did not have any reply for the final speech of him and I did not know what to say. So I said: “If your mother is praying for you, for sure your mother’s vowing will be fulfilled…”?

Now on the final sunset of good bye I had told him to do his work and to see what will happen after that. It seemed that they did not want to take him there…

On the second phase of the military operation in Mehran city, I saw him once again. He was on a Toyota Truck. I got so surprised. He had a Kalashnikov gun on his shoulder. We looked at each other for a few seconds, his handsome face had become more beautiful; he smiled and he waved his hand to me. I ran towards the car to reach the car, I did not reach the car. The car got far away and after a few minutes the car disappeared in the dust of an explosion, in fact his mother’s vowing had been fulfilled…

The End
