A Glance at Martyr Sayad Shirazi

Major General Martyr Sayad Shirazi was born in 1945 in Daregaz city located in Khorasan province. After accomplishing his elementary and high school, he entered the official college and he was able to get his bachelor degree from the college in 1967.

His efforts after the victory of Islamic revolution were outstanding in arranging the Army and the structure of Armed Forces.

One of the most important activities that he did after the victory of Islamic Revolution, can be related to the war zone plans which lead to the breakage of siege of Sanandaj city and garrisons of Marivan, Baneh and Saghez.

Sanandaj city by establishment of Joint Staff Forces in the Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps was able to break its siege after 21 days resistance and defense by its fighters. In fact after this operation the enemy an anti-revolutionary militants were pushed back from the city. After realization and successful implementation of these plans, martyr Sayad Shirazi got the degree of colonel and he was appointed as the commander of Western Operations of Iran.

During the final months of Bani Sadr presidency, due to having a revolutionary morale and standing against his treacheries, he was removed from his post and he worked as a member of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps until the deposal of Bani Sadr and his coward escape from Iran to France. In fact he had worked there based on the invitation of martyr Kolahdooz.
