Friday Congregational Prayer, Influential in Spreading Islamic Awakening

Addressing the Friday prayer worshipers before the sermons on April 6, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Yadollah Shiri highlighted the significance of Friday prayers, adding that the committee is planning to publish a multivolume book featuring the importance and rules of this religious task.

Criticizing the corresponding officials for not being much helpful in this regard, he asserted: “Saying Friday prayer is an important feature of righteous rulers and the prayer leaders in Tehran are among the most virtuous and constant individuals in following Velayat (Leadership) whose simple life accounts for their strong faith and piety.”?

Referring to the inauguration of some new centers by the committee, Hojat-ol-Islam Shiri added: “One important center is the International Affairs Office which has a crucial role in disseminating the main messages of the congregation to other countries in the world.”?

“The Council for Clerics’ Affairs has also been launched in the committee and carried out significant undertakings such as supporting the national production, labor and capital with clerics as the pioneers of the plan.”?

Hojat-ol-Islam Shiri further referred to Economic Jihad which was the slogan of the previous year, adding: “It is actually rooted in the Holy Quran and emphasized by the Infallibles (AS) as well.”?

“All people and organizations should follow the Supreme Leader’s slogan for this year to improve the national production in the country.”?

He also referred to the deficient economic conditions in Iran that originated from wrong strategies applied by foreign countries, calling for devising a new Islamic economy that far surpasses the Western and Eastern theories.

“Islamic economy is a public system in which the government is not merely an actor but acts as people’s supervisor and supporter,”? he further asserted, expressing hopes that such a system would result in the development of Islam and the Islamic Revolution throughout the world.
