Official: Iran’s Honor Restored Due to Martyrs’ Sacrifices

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The meeting of the Western Azarbaijan Coordinating Council for the Promotion of the Culture of Sacrifice and Martyrdom was held in Urumieh in the presence of the President’s mentor in veteran’s affairs. According to the Shahed Cultural Information Base (SCIB), Dr. Rahmandoust, the president’s mentor in veteran’s affairs called martyrs and war veterans a huge asset in the promotion of the culture of martyrdom and sacrifice. He said “The present honor of the Islamic Republic of Iran was restored due to the sacrifices of martyrs and war veterans.”? He stressed on the need to institutionalize the culture of sacrifice in the society and added, “Ingraining the culture in people’s beliefs and NGOs, public and veterans’ organizations can be very useful in its more and deep promotion.”? He pointed out, “This can also be achieved through conducting cultural and artistic events at schools, like poetry evenings, book reading contests, introduction of successful figures during the sacred defense as well as implementing the ideals of sacred defense in our everyday life, visiting the families of martyrs and veterans and dispatching Rahian-e- Noor caravans to operational zones.”? Babaee, Western Azarbaijan’s governor’s mentor in veteran’s affairs announced the dispatch of 1500 interested people to operational zones. The figure is anticipated to increase to 4000 during Nowrooz holidays. In the end of the meeting, the authorities of Western Azarbaijan enumerated their activities concerning the promotion of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom.
