Nationwide Theatre Festival of Self Sacrifice Will Be Held

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The Nationwide Theatre Festival of Self Sacrifice will be held in Tehran since December 22nd to December 25th, 2008. 13 Theatre groups from different parts of the country will participate in this 4- day festival.

Research and Cultural Relations Deputy of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs”? announced the above news and said: “The selected plays of Theatre Festival of Self Sacrifice in District 1, 2 and 3 will compete in this festival in order that three best plays are selected. The mentioned festivals were respectively held in Bojnourd, Tabriz and Shiraz.”?
Dr. Abbas Khamehyar further added: “According to coordination with Dramatic Arts Center of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the best play selected out of the three best plays of “Nationwide Theatre Festival of Self Sacrifice”? will be allowed to participate in “Fajr International Theatre Festival”?. This festival will be held at “Meh”? and “Mah”? Halls of “Hozeh Honari”? and Molavi Hall located in 16 Azar Street.”?
He further said: “A criticism and study workshop of theatre will be held in Hotel Hoveyzeh concurrent with holding the festival. And professors of theatre will attend these sessions.”?
It should be mentioned that the following plays are the 13 plays that will compete with each other in “Nationwide Theatre Festival of Self Sacrifice”?: “Peykar”? from Gilan Province, directed by Ali Halvi, “Sound of Earth”? from Markazi Province, directed by Mahdi Mohammadi, “Kakouti”? from Yazd Province, directed by Mahmoud Dehqan Harati, “Chehelsotoun”? from Isfahan Province, directed by Ehsan Rahimi, “We Did Not Write about our Feelings and Time Passed”? from Shiraz City, directed by Rasoul Sehhat, “Resistant Boots and Paper and Wind”? from Mashad City, directed by Ehsan Ebrahim, “When Dorna Returned”? from East Azarbaijan Province, directed by Bahareh Karimzadeh, “Brass Shells”? from Karaj City, directed by Zari Emaad, “The Fourth Letter”? from Hormozgan Province, directed by Hassan Sobhani, “The Game”? from Boushehr City, directed by Hamed Mihani, “The Lost Piece”? from West Azarbaijan Province, directed by Pedram Rahmani and “Tonight My Dorsal Vertebra Plays Flute”? from Kermanshah, directed by Mohammadreza Darand.
