Chista Yasrebi:

Theater Genres in the theater of the sacred war should improve

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Nowadays drama has become a propagandistic device in Iran and has gone astray from its original mission. There are some specific formulas in approaching a topic which do not let the playwright to show the signs of creativity.

Lack of creativity is equal to the omission of the work. Therefore we are Observing Qualitative Falls in Different Dramatic Genres.
As a playwright Chista Yasrebi in interviewing with the Navideshahed reporter has mentioned this and with regard to the effect of topical theater of resistance on the quality and variety of the works added: Topicality of theater generally specifies the primary schemes and frameworks and therefore I have no problem with this.
This literary critic said that the problem is that it is not these frames that are causing problems and added that: there is no problem if we can be content with a general approach about the definition and quality of the works; but is this always the case? The more specific the approach, the less the quality of the works will be, hence they are labeled as propagandistic.
The write of "Tomorrow is Spring" said: Basically I believe that by being solid and inflexible in this field, there would not be an independent work of art and the creation seems to be artificial and useless.
The director of the "Magical Court" has continued: If you have a glance on the theatrical works on war after the 2nd world war, you will see that there is a primary and basic frame present in them. For example I refer to "An Old Lady's Visit." If we study this work in depth we can understand why it has remained valuable so far. "An Old Lady's Visit" is benefited by the relative dramatic elements and it remains faithful to the movement all in all. The variety of the play lies in that its author is free from any limitation and bondage. Yasrebi added that the author has paid attention to the depth of the war in trying to dramatize his concepts and ideas. He has separated from the unsure historical points of view and has provided people with his own stand point.
In answering if topicality will lead to the destruction of creativity said: unfortunately, this reality, i. e. being free in practice, is rarely practical, not only in the holy defense war genre but also in all the other genres, too.
The writer of "Moon Women and Sun – Man" in talking about how effective topical limitation will cause self – censor said: self – censor is a great disaster with which we might be faced in other areas of our lives, too. Topical limits will make this problem worse and certainly it will postpone writing. This delay will cause you, as the writer of a work to focus not on the world of the work itself and on the limitation and this actually hinders your progress.
She continued: if we have to receive the thoughts in frames, then we have not to speak of creativity. Convergence and divergence are two methods that are now discussed. In convergence, you have a previously defined subject, but in divergence it is a free subject that is created and the works of art are the products of this creativity.
The author of "The Story of the Stone Women", in answering how effective the goals of a work can improve a work's achievement said: generally, yes. The aim is set then the procedures. But if it is to be present between the lines so that the work discusses it in detail, the work is still propagandist.
In order to clarify the subject, I will brig forward an example. It was agreed that I write a play at the decree of the foundation of Martyrs and Veterans' Affair. The subject of the play was to be about women martyrs. I was thinking that that dram will exhibit its interesting sides and concepts. The reason was because they wanted the play be about the martyred women and they had no special name or period in mind. So I could bring different martyred women from different historical eras. This lack of limitation helped me make my product more fruitful.
Now think about when I was asked to write a play about the martyred women of the forced war, martyred women of Islam in its beginning or even about a woman who was martyred. This limitation would have certainly affected the creative side of the product and would have created a kind of propaganda.
Basically, giving the general topic is good but one should not be forced to deal with it in a specific way since there would not be a creative play and what there would be is a dependant writing.
