Navideshahed: I wrote a letter to one of my relatives and I described the procedure of living in captivity and how the situation of prisoners of war was. The Iraqis considered it as a pretext to beat us. They told me that I have written a political letter. They started torturing me and 12 other prisoners of war with the charges of writing letter. They initially took us to a hall and they made its ground slippery with foam.

So when we entered the hall, a guard would slap us and when we wanted to move, we would hit on the ground so badly. Hanging was the second punishment. Also asking the prisoners of war to lie on each other in a cross form and then asking to stand up at the same time was another ridiculous punishment. Also they pushed all of us in the same toilet and then they forcefully closed its door.

After that we were imprisoned in a 3*3 room which did not have any windows and air conditioner for three days. Since breathing had become really difficult for all us during these three days, each of us would try to move a shirt for five minutes in order to change the air. The room was really hot and when that person wanted to do that action before it he would squeeze the shirt and some sweat would be poured on the ground. When we tolerated all of these difficulties and after that we were forced to listen to the speeches of camping owners and they told us: Why do you behave like this? Why do you write such letters? We give you foods, sports facilities…you should go and try to have a silent living. You should thank God that you are our prisoners, if you were in Israel, what would you do?!”?
