In the Memory of the Brave Commander in Service of Islam, Martyr Reza Cheraghi

Reza was born in 1957 in a religious and lover of Ahl Beit (AS) family. He went to school when he was six years old and since he had a great talent; his grades would always be good grades. In addition to education, he was so interested to religious studies and activities and he would attend the religious ceremonies so excitedly.

After accomplishing the elementary and guidance school, he entered high school and at that time he got familiar with some of the religious and political issues. At the beginning of Islamic Revolution, he was studying in final year of high school.

The activities of this martyr before the Islamic Revolution Victory:

Since Reza was an active agent in the field of education, he could be considered as an excellent and nice student in accordance to behavior, politeness and science among his classmates and those who had the same age. When the Islamic Revolution began, he actively attended and got involved in the conflicts and he worked the same as other revolutionary people in the protests and demonstrations. When the Islamic revolution reached its climax, his presence in different scene of revolution became more serious and active and he played a significant role in distributing and sharing the announcements of Imam Khomeini among his friends and relatives.

Cheraghi during the Islamic Revolution victory days, he devoted most of his time to the realization of revolution without getting tired and with many excitements. He also played an important role in the capture of military and governmental centers of the Shah’s regime.

The activities of martyr after the victory of Islamic Revolution:

After the victory of Islamic Revolution, Cheraghi attempted so much to guards the ambitions and goals of Islamic revolution so excitedly. Everywhere that he was needed, he would go there and he would do some worthy activities. When the conflicts took place in Kurdistan by the anti-revolutionary militants, he went to Marivan along with his friends so immediately and he strongly got involved in the fighting against the anti-revolutionary militants.

During his presence in Kuridstan, Cheraghi got many valuable experiences regarding the military and commandership issues. He took part in the military operation ‘Mohammad Rasul Allah’ (Peace be upon him) and he passed a very dangerous path that was known as ‘Full of Blood Way’ and he was able the push back the enemies from this path and hereby he was able to indicate his capability, courage and military power in the field of commandership and commanding his forces. He also took part in the guerilla fighting along with the other commanders of Sare Pole Zahab and West Gilan war zones. During the time that Cheraghi was present in Kurdistan province, he was the deputy of Dezli corps and also he was an authority for the Marivan strip as well and he did many brilliant and great services in that place.

The activities of martyr during the Sacred Defense Era:

Cheraghi after a few times passing from the Imposed War Era, he started his services near the other commanders in the western war zones. When the brigade 27 of Mohammad Rasul Allah (Peace be upon him) was dispatched to the southern battlefields, he went there along with the forces of the brigade. From the mid 1981 to 1983, he was the commander of Hamzeh battalion and he took part in the military operations ‘Fathol Mobin’ and ‘Beitol Moghadas’ with this post.

During the military operation ‘Fathol Mobin’ he did many sacrifices in the Dasht Abbas zone against the armored forces of enemy. He fought against the enemy tanks lonely and he broke the siege of his own forces.

During the military operation ‘Beitol Moghadas’, Reza Cheraghi was the commander of strip and he bravely and strongly fought against the enemy until the capture and victory of Khorramshahr. During this operation his foot was injured. After partial recovery, once again he took part in the military operation ‘Moslem Ebn Aghil’ and this time he was the commander of the brigade 27 of Mohammad Rasul Allah (Peace be upon him). During this operation he got involved in the fighting against enemy with 13 battalions and once again he indicates his military and commandership power.

Cheraghi got married with a decent girl in 1982.

During the military operation ‘Valfajr Moghadamati’, the brigade 27 was changed into the Army and its commandership was given to Mr. Cheraghi. During this operation the nickname Sword of the Army was given to him and he exhibited a marvelous and great courage from himself. One of his comrades says: “Presence of martyr Cheraghi near martyr Hemmat would boost the morale of forces and we were able to take back the twin hills under commandership of Reza.”?

Cheraghi led and commanded the Army with high capability and power during the military operation ‘Valfajr 1’ which took place in the public war zone of Fakeh. One of his comrades says: “The Army 27 was commissioned to be combined with the Army forces and to capture the mountainous areas of Jabal Foofi and then to move towards the dept of enemy lands to capture the Oil Installations of enemy. In the morning of operation, Reza went to the Canal of Komeil battalion under the heavy fires of enemy and he reached the right side of the mountainous areas 112. When the forces of Komeil, Ansar and Malek battalions would see his morale, they would get refresh and strong too. After that Reza went to the first line of Meisam battalion, and although we urged so much that we should go back, but he did not accept and he stayed there and finally he was martyred.

How he Got Killed:

Reza Cheraghi after many months of doing sacrifices and fighting against the enemies of Islam and revolution, eventually he was martyred during the military operation ‘Valfajr 1’ which took place in the public war zone of Fakeh. He conducted many sacrifices and epics and his great spirit flew towards the everlasting passion (he was martyred).
