Martyr Avini’s Works, Precious Cultural Asset for Islamic Revolution

Named “Art of Islamic Revolution”? Day, April 8 marks the martyrdom anniversary of Seyyed Morteza Avini who is always remembered as a great artist and author particularly in the sphere of Holy Defense.

Speaking about the individual and artistic characteristics of Martyr Avini, Ahad Goudarziani, head of the of The Sacred Defense Literature Section of the first edition of Book of Resistance Festival, in an interview with IQNA, appreciated Martyr Avini’s commitment to the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense, adding: “His books and documentaries can be a great source of inspiration for the next generations, introducing him as a unique role model in the artistic domain.”?

“Martyr Avini paid heed to the socio-cultural issues of his time, analyzing them in line with the goals and aspirations of the Islamic Revolution,”? he went on to say, calling for the commemoration of this great figure through studying his thoughts and works more carefully to turn them into new origins for further cultural developments.

Goudarziani further said that “Martyr Avini and his works are an asset for our society and deserve to be introduced in more effective ways.”?

Also, Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Fakhrzadeh, head of the Office of Oral History in Hozeh Honari, said that “People are mostly acquainted with Martyr Avini through his artistic productions particularly Ravayat-e Fath (Recounting the Story of Victory).”?

“Martyr Avini was totally aware of the concepts and principles of the revolution and conveyed this awareness through art,”? he went on to say, noting: “We need to use more advanced media to propagate religious values in society.”?

He also called for producing a program featuring Martyr Avini’s character and art, as well as conducting research projects to further recognize such great figures and convey their thoughts.

Another speaker of the meeting was Mojataba Rahmandust, secretary general of the Society for the Defense of the Palestinian People, who appreciated Martyr Avini’s efforts to apply the narrative style in his works on Holy Defense that paved the way for other artists and authors to continue using the style in their works.
