“Aristotle & Molla Sadra”? Conference to Be Held in Athens

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The conference “Aristotle and Mollasadra”? will be held in the Greek Capital Athens end of the year 2007.

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The conference “Aristotle and Mollasadra”? will be held in the Greek Capital Athens end of the year 2007. The Iranian Cultural Attaché in Athens, Mohammad-Reza Darbandi, stated, “This is the first step in an attempt to simultaneously introduce Iranian and Greek thinkers. The conference seeks to examine the ideas of the two sides’ thinkers as well as study two modes of thinking, Iranian and Greek.”? He added, “The conference aims at establishing more fruitful exchange between Iranian and Greek philosophers as well as elaborating the viewpoints of Islamic thinkers.”? He went on to say, “Holding similar comparative conferences such as those on Sohrevardi and Avicenna are also on our agenda. These events will be held with the cooperation of Greek universities and cultural centers”?. He elaborated on planned events on the occasion of Rumi’s year in Greece and said “Masnavi-I Manavi (the spiritual couplets of Maulana Jalaludin Muhammd Rumi) has been translated into Greek and published by a well-known Greek publisher. In addition, there will be discourse sessions aiming at the introduction of Rumi in Greek Universities.”?
